NADA 2012 Convention

National Automobile Dealers Association Annual Convention

The state of the auto industry looks to be headed on an upswing as the National Automobile Dealer Association is preparing for its annual convention to be held this year in Las Vegas. The 2012 NADA Convention's focus is to help in bringing about a recovery to the whole automotive industry and in turn, the whole American economy.

Automotive dealers and manufacturers nationwide have been deeply hit by the economic crisis, reducing the sales of new automobiles from seventeen million to ten million annually. Car dealerships by the thousands were closed resulting in tens of thousands of job losses at the retail level. The latter doesn’t even include the number of jobs lost because of cutbacks at the manufacturer level. Retail car dealers alone are responsible for over a million jobs in the United States so their financial success is critical to the recovery of our economy.

Founded in 1917, NADA represents more than seventeen thousand new car and truck dealers, both domestic and import, with more than 3,500 different franchises. Over ninety-one percent of American new-vehicle dealers are NADA members and a large majority is expected to attend the three-day event in San Francisco. Automotive dealers from all over the world; Asia, Europe, Australia, and South America have already confirmed to be at this amazing event.

I’m working with NADA at their upcoming convention to provide convention attendees with automotive sales and management training workshops. I’ll illustrate specific strategies that attending dealers must employ to not only survive but also grow and succeed in the New Year.

Recently, I worked with NADA in successfully passing the Brownback Amendment where I saw just how active the group is in representing automotive dealers on Capitol Hill. If NADA not been successful in getting auto dealers excluded from Obama's bill on bank reform, the future financial success of these dealers would have been heavily hit causing increased layoffs and fewer financing options for customers looking to buy a car.

Along with former President George W. Bush and Sergio Machionne, I'll be doing another special presentation, a follow-up to last year's.

The NADA Convention will be held this year in Las Vegas in February of 2012. Don't miss it!
